Under the patronage and honor of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawwaf bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - Governor of Al-Jouf Region - Jouf University, in partnership with the Emirate of Al-Jouf Region, is preparing to hold the international conference "Camels, their popular importance, their products, their medical uses, and their branching industries" during the period 25-26 Sha'ban 1445 AH corresponding to March 6-7, 2024 AD. The university is holding this conference; coinciding with the approval of the Council of Ministers headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him - to name the year 2024 AD as the "Year of the Camel"; in celebration of the unique cultural value that camels represent in the lives of the people of the Arabian Peninsula, and to establish their established position, and enhance their presence locally and internationally, as an authentic cultural heritage, and a basic component in the construction of civilization, and to provide a scientific platform during this conference for local and international researchers and specialists; to exchange knowledge and exchange experience, and to present the importance of popular camels, their products, their medical uses, and the most prominent industries branching from them. Among the areas that the conference will discuss, during its scientific sessions, will focus on camels and their importance as a national folk heritage, the uses of camel products in medical fields, and their various benefits. It will also discuss the economic impacts of camels.

The conference aims to involve government institutions, bodies, scientific associations, specialized centers, and the private sector, as well as scientists, researchers, doctors, economists, and university faculty members, in enriching knowledge about camels, their importance, economic impacts, and investment returns.

On this occasion, His Excellency the President of Jouf University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, expressed his thanks to the wise leadership represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God support them - for the approval of the Council of Ministers to name this year the Year of the Camel; This enhances the role of scientific research in establishing the established status of camels and enhancing their presence locally and internationally. He also expressed his thanks to His Highness the Emir of Al-Jouf Region, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawwaf bin Abdulaziz, for his approval of his patronage and honoring of this conference, and his interest and support for all the university’s activities and events. He also expressed his thanks to His Highness the Deputy Emir of Al-Jouf Region, His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Mishaal bin Badr bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, for his support and interest in the university. His Excellency called on all researchers and interested parties to participate in this conference, attend its activities, and benefit from the research and working papers that will be presented in its sessions.
